Overview

 

The Excel Import Multiple Text Files Software offers a solution for users who want to import one or more text files into MS Excel.  By instantly importing text files in batches, you will save hours of time by not having to copy and paste multiple files into Excel.  Text files must be comma-separated files.  Excel 2000 or higher is required.

 

Main Screen

 

The Excel Import Multiple Text Files Software can be started by double clicking the icon on the user’s desktop or choosing it from the Start Menu.  The software’s interface is very simple.  The Main Window is displayed below:

 

 

 

Moving Files

 

User must first open the folder containing their text files;

 

 

then simply drag and drop the comma-separated text files you would like to work with into the Text File(s) box on the main window of the Excel Import Multiple Text Files Software.  Click “Add Text File(s) if you are importing individual files from a folder or if you are moving all the files in folder you may click on the “Add All Text Files In Folder” button.

 

Import Options

 

After importing your files, you may choose to import all the text files into one Excel sheet or import each text file to a separate Excel sheet.  If you choose to have all the files imported into one sheet you must choose the direction you would like the data to be placed into the sheet; top to bottom or left to right.

 

Splitting Data

 

After importing, data can be split by a delimter (an example of a delimter is a comma).

In Excel, go to menu Data > Text to Columns...

 

 

Generate The File

 

Once you have made your selections click the “Start Importing Text Files” button to begin importing.  The Progress Bar at the bottom will show your progress.
